Attorney/Student Membership Information

Membership:

Any attorney in good standing may become a member of the EBA.

Register for membership online or download & fill out the Membership form(PDF) , or the one attached to the EBA brochure and return the application, and membership dues to the Secretary.

Annual dues are $145.00 for the private sector; $100.00 for those who graduated from law school within the last three (3) years, that is, on or after January 1, 2007; $65.00 for the government/academic sector; and $25.00 for student members, and are due and payable January 1st of each year.

Applications for membership mailed prior to July 1st should be accompanied by a check for $145.00 for the private sector; $100 for those who graduated from law school within the last three (3) years, that is, on or after January 1, 2007; $65.00 for the government/academic sector; and $25.00 for student membership.

Applications mailed after July 1st should be accompanied by a check for $72.50 for the private sector; $50.00 for those who graduated from law school within the last three (3) years, that is, on or after January 1, 2007; $32.50 for government/academic and $12.50 for student membership for the remainder of the year.

  • Invitation to join EBA's Houston Chapter, New Orleans Chapter, Southern Chapter (covering Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana [other than New Orleans], Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas [other than Houston], Virginia &West Virginia), the Midwest Chapter (covering Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota & Wisconsin), the Western Chapter (covering Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Canadian Provinces of Alberta & British Columbia and the Mexican States of Baja California & Sonora) and the Northeast Chapter (covering Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, & Vermont) are eligible for membership in Houston, New Orleans, Southern, Midwest, Western or Northeast chapters, respectively. There is no additional fee for membership in these chapters.

Activities:

The EBA publishes the Energy Law Journal and an Association Directory, and distributes summaries of recent court opinions of interest. The Association also organizes and sponsors educational seminars, including Continuing Legal Education programs in conjunction with its Mid-Year Meeting in November of each year, as well as the program held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting in April or May. These programs usually include addresses by prominent energy figures. The Association's members participate in committees which monitor and report to the membership on developments of interest.
