CFEBA Grant will secure the safety of thousands of patients in Puerto Rico!

The Charitable Foundation of the Energy Bar Association (CFEBA) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors approved a $100,000 grant to The Puerto Rico Primary Care Association, Inc. (PRPCA). PRPCA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, organized in 1984, that supports the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program award recipients in Puerto Rico.

PRPCA will use the funds to install integrated hybrid solar power systems that would power the refrigeration units at the primary care clinic delivery sites in its portfolio located throughout Puerto Rico. This project will address refrigeration needs for perishable medication such as insulin, vaccines, and certain liquid antibiotics and cancer medications.

Hurricane Maria caused unprecedented damage to Puerto Rico’s already fragile power grid and with hurricane season around the corner, CFEBA is excited by the huge impact this grant will have on the resilience and disaster preparedness plan for the island and thousands of Puerto Rico’s most vulnerable citizens.

Thanks to the support of EBA members, we are able to once again provide funding to improve lives worldwide with affordable and environmentally sustainable energy.
