9:45 AM – 10:00 AM Welcome and Overview

10:00 AM – 10:30 AM keynote Address

10:45 AM – 11:45 aM Panel 1: Continuing from Last Year’s Program: Winter Storm Uri Update and Summer 2022

The panel will provide an update on rule changes and preparedness improvements in Texas following Winter Storm Uri, including an update on how the industry performed during the heat wave in summer 2022.  The focus will be on relevant changes/developments affecting the gas, generation, and transmission sectors of the energy industry.

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Panel 2:  The Future of Texas Power

From Winter Storm Uri to the crushing heat of July 2022, to the massive load arising from the creation of large BitCoin mining operations, the future of Texas power and its relationship with both the natural gas industry and environmental goals requires a thorough reexamination.  Can better coordination between the gas and electric industries help/?  Does significant new dispatchable generation need to be built?  Or  can efficiency and demand response make enough of a difference to avoid the cost and issues of new fossil fuel capacity?  This panel includes stakeholders and experts in every aspect of those questions.

Along with vaccination recommendations, all EBA meeting attendees, speakers, guests, and exhibitors will follow jurisdictional requirements for mask wearing. As an additional precaution, EBA recommends all attendees wear masks regardless of local requirements.
