DESCRIPTION:In this course\, energy lawyers will learn the fundamentals of energy trading. Our faculty will introduce participants to the purposes and benefits of trading\, basic concepts in trading\, the energy products that are commonly traded\, and the markets in which they are traded. Our faculty will discuss the regulators overseeing energy trading\, how trades are documented\, and who the major trading platforms are and how they operate. This session will give an overview of the main issues shaping carbon management today\, including regulatory and market drivers in the U.S. and abroad\, the challenges of measuring and reducing emissions across value chains\, the growing role of carbon credits and removals\, and the interplay between regulated and voluntary carbon markets.
