The Future of Natural Gas Pipelines: Precedent or Unprecedented?
How should we best use and transport natural gas in the next few decades, as we transition to a cleaner energy future? While gas is necessary for myriad domestic and international needs, and pipelines are a vital part of that equation, some would like to minimize the use of gas as a fossil fuel. In addition, despite FERC jurisdiction on the interstate level, the siting of new gas pipelines has become increasingly controversial, and revisions to NEPA and environmental justice factors are also part of the decision process. Come hear our experts debate the outlook for new gas pipelines and upgrades as we rapidly approach an energy inflection point.
