Should electricity customers have to keep paying extra each month to subsidize noncompetitive nuclear and coal plants? This past week the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission gave a resounding “no” to that question, dealing a huge defeat to utilities who count nuclear and coal plants among their generation assets.
