The 2024 Enforcers and Defenders Forum will take place on Wednesday, March 20 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Jones Day office in D.C.

This popular event provides a forum to discuss current issues related to enforcement and compliance in the energy sector. Enforcers Panel

One of the highlights of this annual program is the Enforcers Panel, featuring key representatives from FERC, CFTC, NERC, and PJM’s IMM. This year, our panel of enforcers will cover recent changes in settlement policy, including FERC’s new approach to streamlined settlements, and the increased focus on extreme weather, cybersecurity, and other reliability issues.

Defenders Panel

The Defenders Panel features practitioners with extensive experience representing clients in enforcement and compliance matters before federal agencies including FERC, NERC, CFTC, NFA and FTC. This year’s panel will discuss trends in enforcement matters such as demand response as a focus of enforcement, the impacts of several recent and pending court cases, and FERC’s recent Policy Statement on resolving investigations through settlement. The panel will conclude with a Defenders Roundtable that will address practical matters including self-reports, statutes of limitations, and FERC’s implementation of its Brady Policy Statement.
