11:15 – 11:45 AM: Bridging the Electric-Gas Coordination Gap

Since Winter Storm Uri, the Texas legislature and regulators have created committees and rules aimed at improving gas and electric coordination.  This panel will discuss whether the rules are sufficient or more needs to be done to avoid blackouts during another extreme weather event.

11:45 AM – 12:15 PM: The NAESB Initiative

Winter Storm Uri brought unprecedented scrutiny to the Force Majeure provisions in the NAESB contract, as widespread gas supply interruptions exposed tensions between natural gas suppliers, utilities, and LDCs. Disagreements over the scope of the provision and the obligations of market participants in Force Majeure situations have sparked significant disputes and litigation. This panel will provide essential background on the issue and explore the latest court decisions and industry developments shaping how Force Majeure is understood and applied going forward.

3:00 – 4:00 PM: The LNG Balancing Act: Financing, Foreign Policy, and Future Supply

This session will explore the most pressing challenges facing U.S. LNG today, including the urgent need for equity investment to support infrastructure growth, the impact of tariffs and rising protectionist policies on global demand, and how sustained low oil prices could affect future gas supply. Panelists will share insights on navigating these headwinds and discuss strategies for maintaining competitiveness in a shifting global energy landscape.
