2026 Enforcers and Defenders Forum

The 2026 Enforcers and Defenders Forum will take place on Thursday, May 7 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM followed by a networking reception from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Troutman Pepper Locke’s Washington, DC office.
As in past years, the 2026 Enforcers and Defenders Forum will feature discussion of current issues related to enforcement and compliance in the energy sector, and a sharing of perspectives from regulators with enforcement responsibilities as well as attorneys who work with energy market participants on enforcement and compliance matters.
This year, our first panel will take a deeper dive into the significant role that market monitors play in enforcement matters, and will include leaders from FERC’s Division of Analytics and Surveillance, as well as from numerous different market monitoring entities that are charged with oversight of various organized energy markets across the country. Our second panel will bring together enforcers from FERC’s Office of Enforcement and Regulatory Accounting and outside counsel defenders from the energy bar for a lively discussion of current topics of interest.
