Enjoy Spring in DC

Mid-May is a great time to be in Washington, DC—the city will be in full bloom and the weather is perfect for taking in the sights before the full crush of summer tourists arrive. For those planning to attend the EBA Conference and Annual Meeting on May 11-12, 2023, consider staying for the weekend after the conference and enjoying all that Washington has to offer. You can choose to visit one of the many world-class museums (many of which are free), take in a show or concert, stroll along the National Mall and its many monuments, or join your fellow conference goers at the Nationals game on Friday night.

The EBA has put together a list of weekend activities that you can enjoy on your own or with your family. To see a full list of happenings in Washington, see https://www.eba-net.org/home/2023-annual-meeting-and-conference-weekend-in-dc/.

During the Conference and Annual Meeting, the EBA has a number of networking events and breaks designed to make connections between attendees.

Featured Meet Ups: Friday, May 12

  • 8:15 AM - 9:00 AM: Young Lawyers Council and Masters Council Meet Up
We invite all members of the EBA's Young Lawyers Council, and all new energy lawyers regardless of EBA membership, to join the Masters Council for this unique opportunity to connect with experienced industry leaders.
  • 8:15 AM - 9:00 AM: In House Counsel Meet Up
We invite all in house counsel professionals in attendance to join members of our In-House Counsel Coalition for the opportunity to build connections with like-minded energy professionals.

Attend the CFEBA Annual Gala

Each year at the end of the first day of the EBA Conference and Annual Meeting, the Charitable Foundation of the Energy Bar Association (CFEBA) holds its annual fundraising gala. This elegant event directly supports the foundation’s grant giving activities. The support of EBA members and their organizations is critical to ensuring that CFEBA can continue the mission of “Powering Positive Change and Generating Hope.”

The gala will be held on the evening of Thursday May 11, from 5:30-8:00 PM. At this year’s event, we will be honoring Nova Ukraine, the 2023 Cornerstone Grant recipient. Nova Ukraine was granted $50,000 toward the purchase of generators that support essential services in hospitals and warming centers throughout Ukraine.

The event will begin with a cocktail reception, followed by a seated dinner with presentations by representatives from CFEBA and Nova Ukraine. We will also feature entertainment from Spiv Zhyttya, a DC-based Ukrainian singing group!

Special Event: Cheer on the Washington Nationals at the Ballpark

It’s a Fireworks Friday Game! Reserve a ticket in our Champions Club seats and join other conference attendees to watch the Nationals take on the New York Mets.
